IAG New Zealand has appointed Wendy Lai as an independent non-executive director to its board. The appointment took effect on November 18.
Lai has more than 25 years of experience in management consulting. She was part of Deloitte’s global and regional leadership teams based in New Zealand and Southeast Asia, specialising in improving organisational performance.
She also has extensive governance experience and has served on several boards including Deloitte (NZ), Counties Manukau Health (deputy chair and chair of audit and finance), Te Papa The Museum of New Zealand (chair of audit and finance), Avanti Finance and Ziera (chair).
According to IAG New Zealand chairman Simon Allen, Lai brings extensive strategic and operational expertise, as well as practical skills gained throughout her career as a management consultant.
“Wendy Lai is well known in New Zealand and internationally for her strong business transformation and leadership capability across a range of sectors, including financial services,” Allen said. “We are delighted to have Wendy join the IAG New Zealand Board.”
